Shojo is so addicting

I hadn't read a comic book since I was like 7, but somebody suggested I read some graphic novels .

I started out with "MERMAID SAGA" which is about the legend of the mermaid. Basically if you eat the flesh of a mermaid ( eww I know!) you can become immortal , but only like 10 percent do without complications. Some turn into mutants, others turn evil etc. The main characters are 2 of the people who did become immortal ( a guy from the 17th century and a modern day girl) without complications. they go around finding others like them. And try to prevent people from eating the mermaid flesh so nothing bad happens.



Then , "SHOJO BEAT " was released last month. Its pretty cool for a comic magazine. Some of the stories are kinda cheesy , but I like "Nana" and "Godchild" I wish they would put more articles in about Street fashion and where to buy cute stuff , but oh well , its pretty good so far :)


The one thing I hate about Manga is the price! $8.99 for some little book ? luckily they know me at Border's pretty well and don't mind if I read them there hehehe!
